A Day with Meals On Wheels | Bay Alarm Medical

July 10, 2015

We recently took a drive to Meals on Wheels of San Francisco to donate over 3,000 pairs of Bombas Socks for their Socks 4 Seniors Program. During our visit, we hung out with the MOW team who introduced us to their Home Delivered Grocery Program. (HDGP)

We were fascinated by the program, the help it provided to seniors as well as those that couldn’t physically obtain fresh groceries. Bay Alarm Medical was very excited about the opportunity and wanted to support their efforts by volunteering.

Check out the video of our trip to MOWSF!

Every Wednesday morning, Meals on Wheels of San Francisco puts together their HDGP tables where fresh produce, grains, and proteins are organized and ready for the assembly line. Volunteers work together to get bags packed and assembled for the volunteer drivers to set out and drop them off to the clients.

Our team, along with companies like Ajilon, Parker + Lynch, and other drop-in volunteers met at MOWSF at 6:30 a.m. and worked together. The results? Over 300 bags of groceries were put together to feed seniors and those who have a harder time getting out and carrying heavy bags of groceries.

We had so much fun meeting other volunteers and working with MOWSF and have already made plans for our company to help out once per month. It’s always a pleasure to help others – whether it’s for our customers or people in our community.

If you would like to volunteer at Meals on Wheels of San Francisco, please email Danie Belfield: dbelfield@mowsf.org or contact their office at (415) 343-1311.
