Bay Alarm Medical Caregiver App for SOS Smartwatch

With the Caregiver App now available for the SOS Smartwatch as well as the SOS Mobile systems, here’s a quick review of how easy to use the app is.

Bay Alarm Medical has long had its Caregiver Portal, the desktop platform to manage tracking our mobile medical alert systems that have GPS. And then of course there was an app for that too, so you could track a loved one’s whereabouts and situation from your own phone, wherever you were. And now the Bay Alarm Medical Caregiver App is available for the SOS Smartwatch.

What’s in the Caregiver App User Guide

The Guide explains the simplicity of the app on your phone with the following eight options.

1. How to download the app.

Use the link in the Guide or go to the Mac or Android App Store and search for Bay Alarm Medical, then find the My Account Manager app, and download and install the app on your phone.

2. How to sign in or reset the password.

To sign in, use the same credentials as the Online Account Portal. Enter your registered email and password, then tap Sign In. If you’ve never signed in or forgot your password, tap Forgot Password? and enter your registered email, then tap Reset Password. You’ll receive an email with a reset link – follow the instructions to regain access.

3. How to change the password.

From the menu system on the Home screen, select Change Password and then enter the details in that screen.

4. How to sign in with Touch ID.

If your phone is equipped for it, to enable fingerprint scanning tap the Menu icon on the Home screen and select Enable Fingerprint. Then, touch and hold the circle button to scan your fingerprint.

5. How to update mailing details.

From the Home screen, use the menu or tap the Account Holder icon and from that screen tap Edit in the mailing address section. Make your updates, and tap Save Changes to finish.

6. How to update shipping details.

From the Home screen, use the menu or tap the Medical Alert User icon and from that screen tap Edit in the shipping address section. Make your updates, and tap Save Changes to finish.

7. How to update billing & payment details.

From the Home screen, use the menu or tap the Billing Details icon and from that screen make any necessary updates to billing or credit card information, then tap Update & Pay. For past-due payments, follow the same steps and tap Pay Past Due to complete.

The features of the Caregiver App

8. Caregiver Tracking.

Note this was written for the SOS Mobile device but applies equally to the SOS Smartwatch.

To view caregiver tracking, access Medical Alert User details from the Home screen or Menu. In the Medical Alert User screen, tap View in the Caregiver Tracking section to open the tracking details.

  • Tap Refresh to get a real-time status update from the GPS device.
  • The Last Known Location shows the device’s address on the map. Tap View Map to expand it.
  • Tap Update Location for a live GPS marker, address, latitude, and longitude.
  • Battery Life. If the GPS device is fully charged, the connection status will show “Ready for Use!” If the charge is low, it will display “Unable to connect. Check Device.”
  • Ring Device. If the GPS device is misplaced, tap Tap to start, then Tap to ring to activate a loud sound. The device will sound three times before a new request is sent.
  • Auto Fall Detection (AFD). This optional feature can be activated by calling customer service.
  • Step Counter. Track the Medical Alert user’s daily step count easily.

And that’s how easy it is to use the Caregiver App for the SOS Mobile and the SOS Smartwatch devices. Simplicity itself!
