From AI-driven companions to smart home breakthroughs, CES 2026 featured another year of great innovations. Suprisingly, one of the most exciting narratives to emerge was the growing focus on AgeTech. It was great to see our underserved market introduce technologies crafted specifically to help older adults live with safety, independence, and connection.
Backed by an expanding ecosystem of innovators and organizations like the AARP AgeTech Collaborative, CES underscored how the future of tech is also the future of aging well.
Here were five products that I felt reflected this shift. Tools that matter not just for innovation’s sake, but for the caregivers and families that could count on them every day.

Cadense Shoes: Fall Prevention That Starts at the Feet

One of the most practical and exciting products I saw at CES, believe it or not, wasn’t a device or an app. It was a pair of shoes!
Cadense shoes are designed to improve stability, balance, and comfort for older adults. They are built with supportive soles, shock absorption, and slip resistant traction. The shoes feature a slide and glide nylon pad on the sides of the toe area in an effort to move forward without catching or tripping the surface.
For our elderly customer base where mobility is an issue, overlooked features like this really matter in navigating daily life safely.
What really stood out to me was how normal they looked. Similar to what you find from brands like Hoka and New Balance, the shoes combined a lightweight upper with a thick foam stack in the midsole.
The soft and squishy feeling was immediately felt when I tried them on next to my white daily worn white sneakers. To be quite frank these shoes would’ve been awesome navigating the convention halls where we averaged over 22,000+ steps per day.
Fall prevention starts long before a button is ever pressed. It starts with confidence, balance, and safe movement. I really like where Cadense is going with their product line and hope to see more styles as their company continues to grows.
Passive Monitoring Tech: Monitoring Without Cameras, Microphones, or Wearables

I believe that the best type of monitoring is the kind where nothing needs to be worn and people can go about their daily lives without needing to be bothered by remembering to wear a button or having to recharge a mobile device.
This year at CES, I was pleasantly surprised to see “passive monitoring” continue to make advancements in their ease of use, ease of installation, and movement/detection accuracy.
The sensors that a slew of companies are developing passively monitors activity using wireless sensing without the need for cameras, microphones, wearables, or anything invasive. It can detect movement patterns, inactivity, and potential fall events while fully respecting privacy.
For caregivers, this means awareness without intrusion, safety without surveillance and peace of mind without constant check-ins.
What I appreciated most was how quietly the technology worked in the background. The goal is for independent seniors to not have to change their routine or feel like they are constantly being watched.
Since there were multiple companies working on this tech, we’ll be covering individual brands once the technology gets more refined. That said, we are very excited about the future of passive monitoring.
Remento: Preserving Wisdom Through Simple Storytelling
Some of the most meaningful innovations at CES 2026 was about connection. Remento was a company that really hit our heartstrings and I’m sure we’re not the only ones.
Remento uses artificial intelligence to make it easy for seniors to share their life stories, values, and experiences through guided storytelling. With simple prompts and an intuitive process, older adults can record their memories without needing to login, create a username/password, or even needing to type. This company really gets the idea of “ease of use”.
Rememto makes the story-telling process easy because it knows what questions to ask your loved ones to really get them to open up.
For families, this solves a real problem. “We want to capture our loved ones’ stories…we just don’t always know how to start”.
Remento gives seniors a voice, a platform, and a way to leave behind something truly meaningful.
While safety protects the body, stories protect the heart. Every life deserves to be remembered.
Tombot: Comfort, Companionship, and Calm for Seniors
One of the most emotional moments I witnessed at CES came from a robotic pet.
Tombot creates lifelike companion animals designed to support seniors, especially those experiencing loneliness, dementia, Alzheimer’s, or anxiety.
These pets respond to touch and interaction in gentle, realistic ways. For seniors who cannot care for a real animal, Tombot offers companionship without responsibility.
What I saw was simple but powerful. I saw smiles. I saw calm. I saw comfort.
For caregivers, Tombot represents another layer of support when you cannot always be there. It offers a way to reduce loneliness and bring moments of joy into everyday life.
Technology cannot replace human connection, but it can help fill the quiet moments.
Proto Hologram: Bringing Healthcare Into the Home
Proto had one of the biggest footprints at CES 2026, and for good reason.
Their hologram technology allows life size, three dimensional projections of real people to appear in a space without virtual reality headsets or complicated setups. It feels more natural than a video call. It feels more human and more engaging.
What really excited me was the potential for remote healthcare.
Imagine a doctor checking in without a clinic visit. Imagine a specialist explaining care face to face. Imagine a therapist guiding exercises remotely.
For many seniors, traveling to appointments is exhausting, stressful, and sometimes unsafe. Proto’s technology could make care more accessible, more frequent, and less disruptive.
For caregivers, this means fewer logistics to manage and better continuity of care for your loved ones.
The future of healthcare does not always need another waiting room. Sometimes, it just needs a better way to connect.
Why This Matters to Us at Bay Alarm Medical
At Bay Alarm Medical, our mission has always been simple. We help seniors stay safe, independent, and connected.
What I saw at CES 2026 reinforced something we believe deeply. The idea that the future of senior care is not about replacing caregivers, but rather the focus on how to support them.
From fall prevention and privacy friendly monitoring to emotional connection and easier access to care, these innovations were designed to make real life better for seniors and the people who love them.
