When I first looked at medical alert devices for my Mom, I felt I had fallen down a rabbit hole! So many companies, so many options, and so much to consider to determine what was the right fit.... Living out of state from her added additional challenges. Ease of use, support and excellent customer service beyond the sale were essential.An independant study by the National Council on Aging identified the 10 best alert systems of 2025, rating Bay Alarm #1 for customer service. They were spot on!As I contacted the companies on their list, I learned about different devices and prices, but despite my questions, I couldn't really understand exactly how it all fit together or what our best option would be.Katie at Bay Alarm changed all that. Her first comment was: she knew how confusing and hard this was - she had months of training to learn it all - but she would walk me through every step and, together, we would find the perfect fit for my Mom. Her positive energy was contagious; her empathy and kindness was genuine. She was definitely knowledgable about all the components, the pros and cons of each, how the various processes worked, and how to put it all in layman's terms. She answered my questions as patiently the fourth time I asked them as she did the first time. She knew I was gathering details to review with my family, so she sent a clear detailed summary of the two options we were considering.We had a few more conversations as situations changed and/or new questions arose - all followed by nice summaries.Unfortunately, Katie left the company before the final purchase was made, but her replacement had all of her notes and emails. Matt was as commited as Katie in making our "entire family comfortable with our selected choice." (his words in quotes) We had several long family conference calls with him and he was equally patient and helpful throughout. If there was an issue or question out of his knowledge base, he was quick to connect us to the right person and then followed up to ensure it was answered or solved.EVERYONE we have spoken to at Bay Alarm has been professional, engaged, and won't give up until you are happy. A shout out to Kal in Customer Service who did such a great job in explaining the dispatch process, reviewed various scenarious, adressed their training and provided me with the three contact numbers to put in my phone!read more
