Final update from the issues we had:Defect was fixed in the app so we are now getting text alerts again when user’s device battery is at 20%. It took weeks to get an answer about the ongoing issues... with the device not notifying user that the battery was low. We have been advised the user’s GPS device produces an audible alert when the battery reaches 10%. We tested and can verify that. Mom swears she used to get alerts about the same time I would start calling her when the text messages started, but I cannot confirm at this point if the original device alerted her at 20%.If you need tech support, use the online chat feature on their website, it is by far the most efficient way to get in their ticket system. There were a couple of staff at Bay Alarm tech support and chat that were exceptional, but it was frustrating that it took so many months to get the issues worked out and that the front line techs weren’t armed with enough functional information about the devices and the app. So for that reason, I cannot give this a higher rating overall. I feel diligence is still required on the part of the user and caregiver to keep tabs on the function of the device.---------Issues:1. Device does not have an indicator for how much battery life is left. Device was not producing audible low battery signal, so battery went dead without user knowing.2. The Caregiver Tracking app notification settings weren't saving. We didn't realize the app had changed the notifications setting for battery and calls from 'text' to 'none', and so when issue #1 was a problem, we weren't aware the battery was low until user pushed the call button and discovered the unit didn't work. Battery had been dead for 24 hours.3. We had two defective devices within a few months. One was a battery issue, and the other did not function on fall alert or button push for help.4. Wait time for phone tech support is very lengthy (30 min + during their business hours) and unavailable nights/weekends. If you need tech support, its business hours, Pacific time.read more
