When Would Someone Use Automatic Fall Detection?

Hi, I’m Gjenes from Bay Alarm Medical, and today we have a question from Gloria in California. Gloria wants to know:

“When would someone need fall detection?”

As Gloria may have guessed, fall detection is not needed in every situation. It works just like a regular button, except that it has added protection for those who may be incapable of pressing the button during an emergency.

Common conditions where this feature is often needed are dementia, Alzheimer’s, strokes, seizures, and sudden black outs. If you have any of these conditions, then this may be the best option for you.

One thing you want to keep in mind, is that no fall detection technology detects 100% of falls and may trigger false alarms. However, our system is optimized to reduce those risk.

I’m going to demonstrate how the fall detection works.

As you can see, everyday movement should not trigger the alarm and lightly hitting the button will not trigger the alarm. At a high impact fall or hit will trigger the alarm.

For more information on the Automatic Fall Detection System, give us a call at 1-877-522-9633. Thanks Gloria, for your question and thank you for watching!

Please note: As stated in the video, no fall detection system (regardless of company) is 100% accurate. They are typically made to be sensitive and can trigger false alarms, depending on high impact movements, falls as well as hitting it against something roughly. Give us a call to learn more about fall detection and to find out if it’s right for you.
